The potential of AI for the betterment of mankind is breathtaking and is well covered. The airwaves are also full of dire warnings about its dangers.
The whole thing is pretty madcap.
My view of how to handle this differs from much of the current conversation.
This comes from having worked as a consultant, with hundreds of different individuals, one on one, for well over 20,000 hours — with the specific purpose of increasing power of choice and creativity, improving the ability to control attention and the raising of responsibility levels.
In my view the true battle for the future of AI will be won by making individuals sane enough, self-determined enough, and ethical enough to use the technology without surrendering their cognitive sovereignty.
